Watch long-time Shearer Extraordinaire, Jonathon Hearne, as he deftly shears the heavy summer mohair fleeces -- from young kids being sheared for the first time to the more relaxed mamas and weathered males. While each goat is lovingly held, hooves are also trimmed -- then goats are weighed, checked out, medicated if needed, and vaccinated. This is a day that truly is all about the goats! It’s interesting to see the sheared goats re-join the herd…they don’t often recognize each other without their fleece ! The fun begins at 9am, bring a 2nd cup of coffee and a friend :)
