The name ‘Silver Spruce’ brings to mind the grandeur of these noble trees standing tall on our Western North Carolina mountain sides shimmering in the morning sunlight !  The original color of this yarn is heather gray: my farm-raised black mohair blended with white wool. During the kettle dyeing process, the darkest of the black mohair retains its color giving Spruce Pine a textured, organic appearance. Silver spruce is an attractive stand-alone colorway. Its color companions could include Spruce pine, Joseph’s Coat, Darker ‘n Dusky Blue, and more…. It is an excellent choice for your next shawl, sweater, vest, cowl, hat et al !

Since this yarn was kettle-dyed in small batches, there may be variations between skeins. These variations are part of the joy of working with kettle-dyed yarns. Please note that monitors also create a variance in colors. My yarns are dyed by hand in my smoke-free home studio.

Hand wash gently in cold water. Dry flat.
