“Spruce Pine” is color way that recalls memories of riding my horse down steep forested trails here in the Pisgah Forest…just the two of us. The quiet broken only by twigs snapping under his hooves, the scent of pine heavy in the air. The natural color of this yarn is heather gray: my black mohair blended with white wool. Kettle-dyeing and hand-painting this textured gray yarn create the earthy blend of Spruce Pine. This yarn produces beautiful shawls, scarves, vests, sweaters and hats. Spruce Pine is an excellent stand-alone colorway. Good Fibrations’ Silver Spruce makes a stunning color companion !
Since this yarn was hand painted in small batches, there may be variations between skeins. These variations are part of the joy of working with hand painted yarns. Please note that monitors also create a variance in colors. My yarns are dyed by hand in my smoke-free home studio.
Hand wash gently in cold water. Dry flat.
